No, they are not a finance company they just hook you up with lenders and major finance companies. The advantage they claim to offer is time saving, just like with insurance comparison engines.

The site says they will search and compare a large range of loans. Does anyone know whether it's debtbuster who are provide the loans or they are just middle men. And can they sell the loan onto someone else who charges obscene rates???

Their are only for home owners , make sure you meet this requirement first. On the phone the lady was informative and friendly, and used language I could easily understand. She slowly went through all the different lenders and plans suitable for my personal household circumstances. The two main things they take into account are your income and credit rating. Of course I applied to Debtbuster loans because I have a poor credit history and couldn't receive a loan from my bank. Once she had explained the process she did just one quick search on her computer and found me the lowest rate immediately. It was all very efficient with me receiving a letter next day with the loan application details. At 7.4% it was much better than my current outgoings, and after trying some other companies before signing the form found that Debtbuster were by far the cheapest offer for me. A friend didn't have such a nice experience however so I couldn't give the service full marks. She got quoted 12% Apr. They assess the situation for each individual, so the APR you get quoted will vary greatly. My friend said you can also be quoted as high as 19.9% APR which is very high.
