Citizens Advice Bureau
If a dispute with a trader has left you hesitant and indecisive,
then you may wish to receive free advice at the Citizens Advice
Bureau. The Web address for this charity is provided below.
The Citizens Advice Bureau has over three thousand locations across
England and Wales. They receive millions of requests for advice
each year. In 2009, their website states they have solved two million
problems posed to them by the general public.
The principles which comprise the CAB are fourfold, 1.
it's free, 2. your problem and the advice given remains confidential,
3. the advice given is impartial, 4. the bureau's
aim's are independent of government or individual policies.
You can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau in one of three ways,
- A face-to-face meeting at one of their offices
- By landline or mobile telephone
- By electronic mail services
The Citizens Advice Bureau offer advice for a broad spectrum of
subjects. The most prominent are,
- Financial problems, such as debt issues.
- Employment, household and child benefits.
- Advice for finding employment.
- Consumer problems, disputes with traders.
- Personal relationships.
- Health issues, NHS and private healthcare concerns.
- State and private education.
- Gender, racial and other forms of discrimination.
- The law.
- Immigration into the United Kingdom.
