Candy are mainly big in Italy and UK, which cover approximately half the sales total, thanks to Candy's and Hoover's solid reputation in these countries. Candy electrical appliances have been in people’s homes for many years, and came to people's attention when sponsoring Liverpool football club in the late 1980's. The Candy Group is a European company, with a totally private capital. Production exceeds 5.5 million units from 12 plants in 6 countries: Portugal, the Czech Republic, Spain, France, Italy and United Kingdom. Since 1945, Candy was synonymous with washing (laundry and dishwashing). In 1970 their range broadened to include refrigerators and cookers. In 1980, the acquisition of Kelvinator UK and its factory sparked off the growth of international production. Then, in the mid-eighties, Zerowatt and Gasfire were acquired in Italy.

Fridge Freezer
I got a Candy fridge freezer May 2006. About a month ago it started
to smell, and it caused me broncial irritation. Neither the manufacturer
or the supplier said they could find anything wrong, as it was still
working. However, I am still experiencing coughs etc whenever I am in
the house which dissappears when I go out, and have been forced to buy
another different type of fridge freezer.
I feel that I have not got the service I should have from the manufacturer,
as it is still under guarantee, and they should have at least taken
it back to investigate further.
HAS ANY ONE ELSE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT?

Candy 242 dishwasher
Is there a possibility that anyone could psot an address here fpr me to get a handbook for this product. I have just aquired it from my son and his wife and do not appear to be getting the best results from the appliance.

Do not be fooled by the 5 star rating - we were!
Please do not buy this machine unless you enjoy removing "clean" articles and then scrubbing them by hand. Approximately 1 wash out of 15 will be clean. When brought to Candy\'s attention within the guarantee period we were told this is "just how it is". Some perseverance later and now over the guarantee limit and left with a worthless machine - thanks Candy!!!!
