Butlins - Skegness
As as family we've had many day trips to Skegness. From Nottingham
it's about the closest seaside resort of note. Our weekend
break at Butlins was the first time my family has spent any
longer a day at Skegness. We go because our children love
it, and Butlins has so much to keep them occupied. We decided
to book the half board Silver, with the rooms and eating areas
being clean and comfortable, the rooms were very small however.
Butlins is a big area to get around, so for those of you who
are not so good on your feet you may want to book a wheelchair
or scooter. My elderly parents had a hard job over the week.
Our children's ages range from 6 - 14 year old, and there
seemed plenty of of activities like football, basketball,
quasar, ten pin bowling, and go-karts to keep them all happy.
Some of these activities can be expensive and are not free.
The biggest survive was the food which was lovely, we were
expecting something barely edible to be honest. Some of facilities
were pretty disgusting though, the swimming pool changing
rooms for example. The cubicles were filthy and it's a wonder
many children do not get an infection. This was one of the
few black spots, the weekend evenings were are a buzz and
you couldn't find a more lively place. Overall value for money
and worth it.
