Went to Dominican Republic 8/8/07 with Airtours (my travel) took an
allocated on arrival deal and was assured that the 4* hotel would be
one out of the Airtours (Far and away) We were sent to The Hasiender
Resort at Cofessi beach Puerto Plata.
No where to sit in the evenings other than stone steps at the theater,
or if you were lucky enough to get a seat at one of the 6 tables at
the pool bar. Blackpool has a much nicer beach and you won't cut your
feet on the rocks there.
Meals were basic with only a choice of gateau or gateau or runny ice cream for desserts. waiters were not too keen to serve drinks at meal times unless you were a V I P. This i found really bad time share reps wanting you to become V I P's so you could use a golf cart and the v I P beach.
Every day you were pestered by these reps and I was made to feel as a second crass citizen in a 4* hotel. We moved from this hotel (after talking to the airtours rep for a week) to one 3* hotel at Playa Dorada this was heaps better in many ways but niether hotel was anywhere near as nice as the other 6 I have stayed at in the Dominican republic

Simple to use, i've found quite a few nice deals for family and friends at their website (www.airtours.co.uk) in the past. I use it mainly as a negotiating tool when visiting my local travel agents. I have always prefer to negotiate better deals in person. The last trip we booked was at our local Airtours office for a weekend break in Barcelona. Alongside the basic package you also book day trips that are well worth the money, except the Bonavista Market imho. The last time we visited Barcelona we found it was a huge disappointment. The trips we enjoyed the most were the Barcelona Fountains and Nou Camp the home of the Barcelona Football Club. Our rep. was helpful throughout our break and gave plenty of information when asked. When we asked about a local town she gave us information on the hotels, local theme park and the town's best sights. Again the rep. couldn't be more helpful when asked about our return flight home. She provided us with detailed times to be outside our hotel, the journey to the airport, and what time our flight was.

Just came back from bulgaria golden sands 2007 07. Be aware of other reps and letters going round stating that cigarette allawance is un limited, as long as for personal use. Where as you can only bring back 200 per person. We have lost a lot of money as a group as we all smoke. All cigarettes were conviscated at uk customs.bulgaria is not a cheap country, as prices have trippled in last 3 years,and you have to pay 20p everytime you need the toilet, day and night except hotel you are in.
